Microneedling

Microneedling is a treatment for acne scars, sun damage, wrinkles, and other skin issues. This treatment can help with both small specific areas of concern and total skin resurfacing, depending on your needs. At Cary Laser Aesthetics, microneedling is offered with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) to enhance healing and rejuvenation. Treatments don't rely on chemicals, light therapy, or any form of pharmaceuticals to deliver results. Treatments are administered using a handheld device covered in sterile treatment needles.

How PRP Works

PRP is a solution created from a small volume of your own blood. A simple blood draw is the first step, much like having blood taken for routine lab testing. That blood is placed in a centrifuge, which spins it quickly to separate the solid components from the liquid plasma. This allows the platelets to be collected and reintroduced to the now-cleared plasma, creating PRP. Platelets enable blood clotting and are also filled with proteins called growth factors that stimulate new cell development.

PRP can be administered into your skin via a series of shallow injections, or by smoothing the solution over the surface of your skin during microneedling. This approach allows the PRP to penetrate deeply into the channels, where it can go to work triggering new tissue development.
